Guilsfield pulled off the result of the day with this away win at 3rd placed Bangor.
The Guilsfield squad had a new look in the final fixture of 2018, with Callum Bromley suspended and Andy Ford returning to action.
Manager Nathan Leonard also included new signings Aaron Edwards and Aaron Lloyd to the squad.
The Guilsfield plan was to soak up the home side pressure and hit on the break and this worked a treat as the Guils frustrated the Citizens and proved to be a danger with a series of darting breaks. The away side could have taken the lead on the stroke of half time with two corners being cleared off the line.
Guilsfield came out with intent for the second half and took the lead on 50 mins with Sam Litchfield lashing home a corner after the home keeper was put under pressure. Five minutes later the scoreline was doubled as Stuart Rogers gained possession in midfield and neat inter play led to the ever-willing Stev Blenkinsop breaking clear on the right hand side of the area to crash home the second.
Guilsfield were forced into a re-jig as Blenkinsop retired injured butthe subs did a great job in helping to hold off the inevitable last few minutes of pressure as home striker Les Davies was introduced to inject some aerial power to the game. However, Guilsfield deservedly took the spoils with the whole side giving their all to redeem the Prestatyn defeat before Christmas.
