Hadley Wood & Wingate breezed through to the following round of the Aubrey Cup after completing a 7-0 dominant display over Old Parmiterians.

Within the first minute, Lewis Jones, Charlie Harris, and Junior Appiah interchanged passes, before the latters cross from the right channel was met at the back post by Gavin Suddell, though his close range effort was denied by keeper Matt Rowles. Moments later however, the first goal deservedly arrived. David Laird played through Orlando Joao breaking away on goal, and although his connection forced a save, Rowles could do nothing about Harris placing the loose ball into the far corner.

With Joao, and then Leon Fisher turning on the style to add to the hosts' substance, the latters effort to play Harris in on goal was denied, before the away side had their first chance on goal. Josh Towell made a charging run through the centre, prior to picking out Ben Poulton inside left channel, who's subsequent shot-cum-cross went wide of Ross Weinrabe's left hand post.

At the other end, after more Hadley Wood pressure, the hosts doubled their lead. Suddell's deep cross to the far post was cleared away, before Jones attempted an audacious chip from near 25 yards which beat the helpless Rowles. Not for the want of trying, from provider to having a chance on target himself, Towell's drilling shot forced Brad Hewitt to be at his best as the towering centre-half saw the danger clear from inside the area. Just before half-time, Laird found Suddell inside the area, who's curled effort went just over the bar as the ball continued to swerve.

The second half didn't change the momentum of the game as Fisher and Laird exchanged a neat range of passes, before the latters' shot went inches wide to the relief of Rowles. In bizarre circumstances, the home side added their third. Suddell skilled his way past Callum O'Connor, before getting his shot away which was at first comfortably saved by Rowles. However, from the resulting goal kick, the Old Parmiterians shot-stopper kicked the ball into the back of his own players head as the ball rolled over the line.

Two minutes later, still trying to recover from that mishap, the North Finchley outfit hit their visitors for four. Joao this time making his way across the field, bombarded up the right flank prior to finding Fisher inside the six yard box, who made no mistake with the finish. Ben Andreos, who ensured the home side remained resolute at the back, then made his way forward and added his name to the list of scorers. Junior Appiah skilled his way down the right flank, before he rolled the ball into Andreos who's initial shot was blocked by Alex Connoley, though not the rebound as he powered the ball into the back of the net.

Moments later, after some good use of ball retention across the visitors 18 yard box, Jones fired a speculative effort which was relatively saved by the, now frustrated keeper. Straight away on the next forward drive, Lewis was played away in on goal before spectacularly chipping the ball over Rowles from inside right channel.

Khalil Zakkour was forced to then make a great recovering challenge after Ben Parkes tried to score a consolation, prior to Paris Mason curling an effort over the bar after good wing play again by Joao. Following a continued flurry of Hadley Wood pressure, Christopher Wreh, making his debut at Summers Lane, scored a magnificent seventh. Picking up the ball half way inside his own half, he made a telling run down the left flank, before an almost messi-esque dribble saw him past three players prior to finding the bottom corner.

Andreos once again drifted from the back, before his delightful cross-field pass was met by Harris who's effort forced Rowles to make an important save. With the visitors frustrated, they gave away a free-kick in a dangerous position which Fisher almost took full advantage of. Floating in a lovely ball from out wide right, Andreos thought he had doubled his tally on the day but was ruled as being in an offside position. With the last significant action, Appiah set up Wreh after some impressive dribbling, though the latter could only place his effort just wide.
