Harbury ‘A’ 41 v Plymstock Albion 39
With no league fixture, Harbury entertained a Plymstock Albion touring team travelling up from Plymouth – captained by ex Harbury player “Soaps”. The touring side were always going to struggle as only 12 players answered the call to arms; not helped by being asked to leave Whetherspoons for being too rowdy at 10 o’clock the morning of the match. On a warm sunny afternoon the match kicked off with 12 players a side, which often made for a very open but not necessarily fast game! There were plenty of willing Harbury players on the touchline ready to take over when players from both sides found the going a little too much. The match was sympathetically refereed by a Society referee normally assigned league matches in Midlands 1 which made for a game being played in the spirit appreciated by everyone in a touring match.

Harbury Seniors A.G.M. was held at the Clubhouse. Matthew Knight was returned as Chairman and Jeff Foster was returned as Vice Chairman. After more years than he cares to remember, Ian Kimberly (Kimbo) stood down as Treasurer. It was proposed and carried that both Bob Sandford and Kimbo be made “Life Members” for their work and support over many many years.

Harbury 1s 36 v Keresley 17
In the final league match of the season Harbury produced a Jekyll and Hyde performance. From a strong and determined run by centre Steve Alford, Harbury opened up the scoring with a try wide out. It soon became obvious that Keresley’s strength lay in their pack and the rest of the half was played out with them scoring two converted tries and a penalty to lead 5-17 at half time. The second half could not have been more different as Harbury strengthened their pack which provided quick ball for the backs to run in five tries.
The evening was followed up with Awards / Presentations to the Senior section of the Club.
