Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 June
Around forty members and supporters of the club turned out in support of the Natwest Rugby Taskforce week-end. The Clubroom was decorated throughout and is now awaiting new carpet tiles to be fitted later on in August. Changing rooms and showers were painted whilst the car park’s pot holes were filled in, weed killer applied and grass strimmed. Ditches were cleared of rubbish and nettles cut down in and around the copse. A magnificent effort by all who took part reflecting the pride and commitment in which they regard the Clubhouse and grounds.

Saturday 8 July
A big turn-out at the Club early in the morning (well it was around 8am on a Saturday morning!) saw bacon butties, tea and coffee being served before sitting down to watch the third and final Lions Test being played out to a dramatic draw thereby drawing the test series. Following the match, new Head Coach (Ben) introduced himself and set out his training regime for the coming season and then exchanged ideas with both players and members as to what they wanted to achieve this season.

Thursday 13 July
A large number of classic cars, motor cycles and ex-army recovery trucks turned into the Club on a warm sunny evening. A wide range of vehicles were on show creating interest from both spectators and participants alike. The bar was open and a BBQ provided refreshment.

Forthcoming events:

Seniors Training Nights. Tuesday & Thursday nights from now throughout the season starting at 7pm, headed up by Ben and supported by specialist backs coach Russ.

Thursday 10 August: Classic Car night at the Clubhouse starting at 18:30 – everyone welcome.

Saturday 19 August: Pre-season warm up friendly game (is there such a thing as a “friendly” game?) at home against Syston. The game will be played in four 20 minute sessions allowing plenty of recovery time for those not quite up to full fitness! All players and supporters welcome. Syston are travelling over from Leicester by coach so as not interfere with the after match entertainment!

Sunday 3 September 10:00am: Training starts for the Mini and Juniors.
We are a well-supported, friendly Club and welcome new boys and girls from 5yrs old (school year 1) up through the age groups to 16yrs. Come along for free taster sessions during September after which the annual subscription becomes payable. Join us for training and regular fixtures against local clubs on Sundays throughout the season.
All our coaches are DBS checked and have attended RFU coaching courses. First aiders are present at all sessions. Each individual age group has a dedicated team manager.
For mum and dad – an hour or two of relative peace and quiet. Relax in the warm with a bacon roll, cup of coffee and the Sunday papers. Alternatively, wrap up warm and offer some friendly encouragement from the touch line.
