Haringey U18 player selected for Saracens' Centre of Excellence

Isobel Duah, 16, selected for new girls pathway programme

Isobel has been playing rugby for just over 18 months, after she was introduced to rugby through the CBRE All Schools programme in Haringey. Isobel has really taken to rugby and fits training around her other commitments including dance, athletics and her GCSEs at St Thomas More School.

At the start of the year, Isobel was selected to play for Middlesex U18s. Normally a winger, she was thrown in at the deep end to play flanker . She was exposed to different challenges, working hard at her catch, pass, tackling and contact skills. A testament to Isobel’s attitude, she took a ball away from training to improve her skills in her own time .

On 18 February, Isobel was asked to trail for the Saracens' Centre of Excellence. Saracens, along with the other Tyrells Premiership clubs, are running new centres as the basis for the new pathway program for girls rugby.

We are delighted Isobel has been selected for the new pathway programme. She will be joined by 300 other U18s girls taking part in training sessions, modified games and opportunities across the country to play 15s and 7s at various competition levels.

Isobel always demonstrates rugby's core values and is a great ambassador for the sport, her school, our club and her family.

Well done Isobel, we are really proud of you!
