Rhinos kicked off and straight away put pressure on the visitors who cleared their lines with a good kick. Winger Dylan kept the ball in play and was able carry the ball into visitors 22. A quick clear out at the ruck got the ball into winger Toshane’s hands who showed blistering pace to score the Rhinos first try. More pressure and quick hands from the Rhinos again saw the ball get to winger Toshane who sprinted through to score the Rhinos second try, with George adding the conversion.
London Welsh came back at the Rhinos with some determined and powerful plays, and after putting together multiple phases, their powerful number 8 drove through the Rhinos defence to touch down with the kicker adding the extras. Poor discipline from the Rhinos in the red zone resulted in the visitors being awarded a penalty which their kicker slotted over with ease.

The second half kicked off with a big chase from London Welsh putting Haringey under pressure and forcing a scrum. With every phase, the visitors edged closer to the Haringey line, however a brilliant turnover by centre Dylan saw the Rhinos make good ground but a knock on meant they were unable to score. From the resulting scrum, brilliant defence forced the visitors to ground the ball over their try line. From the scrum, Rhinos 8 Firat’s pick and drive saw him power through tackles and score.
From the kick off, Rhinos kept up the pressure and after putting together multiple phases, fullback Stuart saw a gap, sold the dummy and ran through to score another try. George added the extras to extend the Rhinos lead.
Rhinos upped the intensity and Powerful work at the rucks and multiple crash balls put Haringey on the front foot, from which quick hands got the ball to winger John Casey who sprinted in to score another try, with George adding the conversion.
Rhinos kept up the pressure and from a period of open play, just as London Welsh looked to be about to breach the Rhinos defences, winger John Casey intercepted a wide pass and showed brilliant pace to again score between the posts, with George calmly slotting the conversion.
Welsh kept up the pressure as each ruck was turning into a wrestling match as both teams refused to take a backward step. A chip over the top by the Welsh scrum half saw Rhinos fullback Stuart kick down field and show phenomenal pace to chase his own kick, and secure the ball to score between the posts. Once again George added the extras.
Welsh kept up the pressure and put together multiple phases getting them into the Rhinos 22. A deft crossfield kick from the London Welsh 10 combined with a brilliant catch at full speed by the winger saw, London Welsh score with the last play of the match. Conversion was successful.
Final score: Haringey 43 - London Welsh 17
That marked the end of the match with both teams showing respect to each other and the Rhinos securing another win. Lots of positives to take away from the match however there were a few elements of the Rhinos play that the team and coaches agree we need to work on to ensure the team can meet the targets they set themselves at the start of the season.
