Stowmarket led with just six minutes gone, Max Melanson's free kick being flicked on by Ollie Canfer and Sam Nunn's effort took a deflection off Mark Lovell
's foot that was enough to wrong foot debuting goalkeeper Mitchell Ware
The away side lost centre back Matt Paine with a rib problem on 13 minutes, almost ten minutes after he originally sustained the injury, chances coming for the away side but they were unable to convert them.
A minute into first half added time they were punished for their lack of quality in front of goal as Haverhill netted an equaliser via a counter attack, Mutswunguma bringing the ball down for Lovell, who made a determined 60 yard run from within his own half before squaring the ball to Mickey Davis, who cushioned the ball 15 yards out before rolling the ball past 'keeper Callum Robinson.
With 67 minutes gone Mutswunguma netted to complete an excellent move, the ball being played forward down the right for Lovell, who took on his marker before turning inside just inside the area; he squared the ball cross field for Davis, who looked inside before finding Mutswunguma with a slid pass that was met first time with a low left foot shot that beat Robinson at his near left post from 15 yards out.
Ware was comfortable in the home goal to thwart anything that came his way as he wasn't fully stretched, Stowmarket's final chance coming from a corner a minute into added time, Canfer's header failing to find the target.
