Former Heath Colt, Ben Maidment, earned his second Cambridge Blue when he appeared at number 8 in Thursday's Varsity match. Sadly for him - though not for Heath's Chairman, an Oxford rugby blue in 1971 - Ben tasted defeat this year having been prominent in a victorious Cambridge side in 2009 as well as being the starting 8 for England Students, caoched by former Heath coach Paul Westgate. Look out for Ben next season in pro colours.
Brother Max, in his first year at Bath University, made a strong start at prop for the university and for Bath A before being sidelined with cruciate problems that'll keep him out for most of this season. He's another Maidment to watch - along with middle brother Sam who should be back from university and in Heath colours over the festive period.
