Bracknell Town are a well-organised and disciplined side and once they had taken the lead they rarely looked like giving it up. They defended well but such was the nature of this contest that they never really threatened to add to it. Only in the second minute of added time did they make the score-line appear more convincing than it really was.
In truth, the two teams effectively cancelled each other out and there were very few goal-scoring opportunities created by either side. With the exception of one smart save from Blues keeper, Lamar Johnson, low down to his left, neither goalkeeper had a difficult save to make.
The loss of influential defender, Jason Beck, to an eye injury in the 41st minute - incurred in the build-up to the opening goal – further hindered the Blues’ cause and despite their hard work and endeavour, they were unable to found the goal that their efforts arguably deserved?
The Blues’ best efforts came from Elliott Bailey who worked tirelessly up front in the face of some fairly robust defending.
