COUNTY AWARD FOR MR PRESIDENT

ICC President, Andrew Smith, was Highly Commended in the 2018 Yorkshire Cricket Board Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards (OSCAs) recently held at Emirates Headingley Stadium.
The large gathering, after watching day 1 of Yorkshire's County Championship match against Somerset, heard of the mammoth and sustained service that Andrew had given to Illingworth Cricket Club as a player, Captain, Committee Member, Secretary, Chairman and President.
His knowledge of the Club was recognised by Huddersfield University for whom he made presentations at various Calderdale & Kirklees Heritage Cricket Project Exhibitions basing his delivery on his very detailed research and findings which had culminated in the well received 125th Anniversary Booklet about Illingworth CC .
The Club had evolved over time to provided quality cricket for juniors and seniors as well as non-playing members and for which Andrew (and family!) have devoted many, many painstaking hours applying for and receiving grants totaling well over £100,000 for many projects which he then project managed, for example, artificial nets (twice), changing room refurbishment, ground security fencing (x2), Central heating, Fire Alram, CCTV, AllStars Juniors, Friday Night Projects to name just a few.
The Club congratulate Andrew on his well earned OSCA and thank him for all his hard work and vision from which we all benefit.
