A dominant batting display at Clayton saw Illingworth close in on leaders Bradshaw as the visitors posted a commanding 320-6. A solid start by openers Callum Cook(33) and James Lawton (48) was built on by a third wicket partnership which saw both Dan Murfett (92) and Stephen Cook (97) fall agonisingly short of their centuries but treating the spectators to 18 sixes between them.
Clayton never looked like threatening the Illingworth score, losing regular wickets and falling 114 runs short with just two wickets in hand. Ben Clarke had 3-49 and Jamie Moorhouse 2-57.
