Ingleton suffer heavy defeat

By

Ingleton lost on their travels to league favourites Ambleside by 83 runs on Saturday

Winning the toss, Ingleton took to the field against the team relegated from the 1st Division on a warm Saturday afternoon.
James Preston made an early breakthrough holding the return catch off Hunt in the 3rd over with the score on 13.
France was unlucky not to claim the dangerous Wileman as Hughes couldn't keep hold of the drive at Midwicket, he did get in on the act however moments later as Tyson was caught behind by Whitfield.
Preston picked up his 2nd wicket in the next over as Wileman played on for 21, leaving the host 50 for 3 in the 14th over.

A stand of 54 by Griffiths and Johnson was eventually broken as Hughes bowled the latter in the 29th over

The home side continued to score at a steady rate putting on a further 55 runs in the next 13 overs before Kellett and Hughes picked up a couple of wickets a piece to restrict the home side to 181 for 9 from their allocated overs. Griffiths top scoring with 45.

In reply the visitors made a steady start to their innings scoring 33 off 15 overs, the highlight being a David McGonnigal 6 over the 3rd man boundary.
Ingleton struggled to get a foothold in the score, losing valuable wickets at 78 for 4 after 35 overs.

Ambleside dominated as Barney Wileman bowled 6 overs in which no runs were scored, running out winners in the 42nd over after the visitors lost 6 wickets for 10 runs in 23 deliveries.

Fellow promoted side Holme visit Ingleton on Saturday looking to return to winning ways following defeat at home to another side in the hunt for promotion Bare, losing by 72 runs
