Ipswich Seven HC Ladies 3s v IES Ladies 3s
Ipswich win 4-0
The Ipswich Ladies 3s headed over to local derby side IES for their Saturday fixture this week looking for a second league win on the trot. A bitterly cold and windy November day saw the emergence of skins finally being worn across the board!! Winter has officially arrived in the land of Hockey!
Ipswich saw all the possession in the first half with Ipswich GK Tabbie only seeing the ball tentatively approach the defensive D at one point in these first 35 minutes. Goal-scoring chances were abundant for Ipswich at the other end but with the young IES GK playing a good game it took until a few minutes before half time to finally hit the mark when Jess Logan scored a mid air deflection at the left post to put Ipswich 1-0 up.
Ipswich continued the non-stop attack throughout the second half with some superb play from the whole team. From perfect transfers at the back to pinpoint accurate passing from midfield to smooth silky skills up front, everybody put in a cracking shift. This paid off again when Heather Lane swept in number 2 from the top of the D and goals number 3 and 4 followed in quick succession both from Kiya neatly picking up passes in to the D and guiding them expertly home.
Tabbie finally got a chance to warm up a little as IES won their first short corner of the day but it came to nothing and the final whistle blew shortly after to see Ipswich take a comfortable 4-0 win home.
