Houston steps up to take on Head Coaching Role

“"The club is in safe hands!”
Jarrow Vikings are proud to announce the new coaching structure for the 2019 season with former head coach George Taylor stepping down after 15 years at the helm to make way for Adam Houston to take up the reigns.
The change comes at a time of transition for the Vikings first team and the re-launch of the Vikings Junior section.
Although the plan has been in place for quite some time the announcement has been delayed to allow Adam to complete other commitments with Northumbria University and Head Coach of the North squad for the Student North v South Origin game.
Taylor will now assume the role of assistant coach to Houston and focus on developing the junior section once again to give Adam new young talent to work with in future seasons.
On the appointment of the new Head Coach, Taylor said: "The club is in very safe hands, with a young, creative and talented coach with a very sound pedigree in current coaching. Following a great season with Northumbria University he has followed it up as Head Coach for the North, leading them to victory over a very strong South Origin side to showcase to the England Student selectors what talent the North has to offer".
Adam is still hopeful of pulling on the Black and Amber shirt again this season following a long lay off with a knee injury.
