Lepton - Match One

MOTM for Luke as we take on Lepton in the first of a double-header.

Both Jack and Logan showing good turns when in possession of the ball.

We are showing some good early moves in midfield. Good pass by Jack.

Great interception at the back from Luke with a header and a pass upfield to match.

Carter and Luke break up a Lepton attack with good defending. Our midfielders are reminded how quick Lepton are to get forward to attack our goal and encouraged to chase back.

Lepton have a corner. Lets get goal side of their players. Its away by Logan and he chases the ball down to pressure the opposition to allow us to get out of our area.

Carter and Luke reminded to push up to the halfway line when the ball is in the opposition half. They can then receive a pass back and help the attack adding more pressure.

Good throw by Logan to Toby.

AJ has the ball and the midfielders are reminded that when the opposition have the ball they need to come back to get it back. A nice kick by AJ. Quietly going about his job, with an air of confidence in the morning sunshine.

Luke is doing it again, breaking up another attack and releasing a pass upfield. That was a tackle, then chasing the ball down and another tackle and a pass. Great stuff.

Jack is chasing the ball down, gets it, showing good close ball skills. He's been playing on FIFA, I think.

Toby encouraged to go forward and help our wide midfielders when they have the ball, he can unlock the Lepton defence.

Yes, you know who it is at the back by now. A tackle and a beautiful pass upfield. Well done again Luke. He knows what he needs to do, we're keeping it simple and efficient at the back. He's doing it again. Well done Luke, again. Fantastic mate well done.

Carter brings it out from the back. He gets knobbled with a cruncher. He's ok to carry on.

The referee blows for time. Wrighty is coming on for Carter for the second half. Other positions to be the same. Our passing was great. Midfielders reminded not to let the opposition go 4 against our back 2. We have a chat about what a great passing team Barcelona are, and how equally good they are at getting the ball back from the opposition.

Right 2nd half is underway. Carter mentions from the bench that their number 14 had a good 1st half. We'll need to look out for him in the 2nd half.

Good defending by Wrighty and Luke in the early stages of the game. Wrighty saves us with that one, was only him left to defend, he had to get it and lucky for us he did.

Josh is asked to get himself ready to come on in 5 minutes.

It's 4 of the opposition against our 2 at the back. Logan tracking back and chasing down the ball, Jack doing the same. That is better, lets put their team under pressure when the have ball.

Man of the Match - Luke. He kept his position well today, with well timed tackles and excellent passes upfield.

Special mention to AJ, the number of occasions he blocked and saved shots on his line, kept us in the game. Improving all the time.
