Kilmarnock cruised to a comfortable win
Kilmarnock cruised to a comfortable win over Prestwick 2s in the Western cup at Scott Ellis. Prestwick got off to a flyer racing to 29 within the first 4 overs but 2 wickets in an over to Azhar and a run out from Munir put the brakes on. Some tight bowling from Waleed, Azhar and Munir in the middle pulled the game back towards Kilmarnock. Alexander continued his fine form picking up 3 wickets. Some late hitting saw Prestwick score 138 for 6 from their 20 overs.
It seemed about a par score but in the end it proved nowhere near enough. Paulo departed to a terrific running catch on the boundary and was followed by Munir and Azhar who made useful contributions.
Abid at the other end was in belligerent form and smashed a terrific 57 before being well caught again on the boundary. Sandeep, Waleed and Tariq chipped in but it was Niamat who continued his sensational form from Saturday with a well made, well paced innings of 31 not out to steer Kilmarnock to victory with 14 balls to spare.
Good win to keep the momentum going
