Defensive errors cost Knowle

After a quiet start Knowle took control against mid-table Feckenham. In the 13th minute they had a big penalty shout for a handball in the area turned down by the officials. Two minutes later there was a scramble in the visitors' penalty area but three crucial blocks denied the home team. A minute later Steven Ruck crossed from the right but Nathan Corry's effort was well saved by the keeper. Chris Knott in the home goal had to make his first save from a shot straight at him from 25 yards in the 21st minute. Knowle then took the lead three minutes later when they broke away from a Feckenham corner with Corry passing forward to Jamie Corrigan whose shot was saved but Ruck followed up to slot home. Knowle looked in control without creating another clear cut chance but they were spilt open in the 34th minute with Ben Ellicott hitting his effort straight at Knott in the home goal. That seemed to give the visitors hope and they came more into the game and in the last minute of the half they equalised when their winger got in behind Alex Litwinko and pulled the pull back for their striker to score.

Knowle responded well after the break and were ahead again in the 53rd minute when after excellent work from Corry George Seeley drilled the ball home across the keeper on the angle from 15 yards. Feckenham then burst into life by creating two chances from the edge of the box that they blazed high and wide. Roz Kane warmed the visiting keepers hands with a shot from 25 yards in the 68th minute but Feckenham were level a minute later as Seeley tried to head a long ball back to his keeper only for it to land at their striker's feet and he rounded Knott to slot home. Luke Fox had a long range shot as Knowle tried to respond but were undone again in the 78th minute when Knott got caught in possession by ex-Knowle player Ben Ellicott who charged down Knott's kick and put home the loose ball. Knott then had to make a smart save low to his right to keep out a 25 yard free kick but could do nothing with an excellent free kick over the wall with 3 minutes of normal time remaining to give the visitors a 4-2 lead. The visiting keeper made a fine save to tip a Corrigan effort over the bar in the final minute but Knowle ended up with their second loss in row but remain fourth in the table.

Next Saturday they travel to Barnt Green Spartak in the cup.
