Leek RUFC pre season press release and social functions updates

....so in an effort to try and communicate with as many members and friends as possible, please see the attached.
We would encourage to also sign up to the club website and Facebook pages which gives you regular updates on social functions and senior games.
In terms of senior/colts rugby the attached is self explanatory which highlights how the club is continuing to move forward and plan for the future.

I would encourage any of you to visit the club on Sundays and see the numbers and talent on show for both boys and girls at all ages , which highlights the amazing effort that takes place with the kids , parents and coaches to make this a true community club.
Please remember the seniors have 2 warm up games planned
Saturday 25th August at Sandbach kicks off midday.
Friday 31st the kicks off 7pm v Uttoxeter – bar open from 6pm
Colts commence their season on Saturday 1st September

Seniors season commences Saturday 8th September with the 1st team away at Veseayans
Saturday 15th September, Leek v Walsall kicks off at3pm, bar open from 1-30pm
In terms of club house and facilities updates over the preseason the club with the use of volunteers and the local probation service have worked hard on revamping the clubhouse as well as the changing rooms and outfield (not easy with the weather we have had) Anna, our bar manager has worked hard coordinating and coercing members to support the freshness with a new floor planned to be fitted prior to the new the new season. This has been further enhanced by a refreshed kitchen and new cellar cooler. Anna and her team will be taking over the management of the Sat kitchen after the great support of Alison over the past 2 years . This will be working in partnership with Nicola/Keith and the many volunteers on Sundays.

We would encourage you to consider and promote the club hire for various private functions – please contact Anna to hire the facility where buffets can be arranged - contact details via private Facebook or 07875 365931- reduced rates for members
Dates for your diary-

The club house bar will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm (between the 3rd and 7th August, closed for the floor work) where BT sport will shown along with a warm welcome . Friday evening will be special functions/events.
The monthly quiz and homemade curry nights offers will again commence in September– please keep viewing the club Facebook /website sites for updates

Friday 7th September ~ Sausage and Cider Festival at the club £5 per person ~ contact Anna on or our new Social Secretary Caroline Mellor on 07976 595693 or visit the bar to book your tickets or Bargain Booze at Cheddleton
Wine Tasting 13th September – at the club cost £15 pp inc Tapas and tasting of bet 4/6 wines – contact Anna early to reserve tickets
Weekend of 6th October - Beer Festival weekend sponsors are invited at £100 per person which includes free entrance to the first team game and 4 pints along with name sponsored on various forums within the club

Annual Bonfire and Firework Display Saturday 3 rd November – fire lit at 7-30pm
Many more events are planned both social and rugby events as we seek to reach our target for the club development /extension fund as well as supporting the general running of the club .
