MARTIN MOVES TO KIDSGROVE

By Steve Reynolds

The Club would like to announce the departure of goalkeeper Chris Martin who has made 64 appearances for the Blues,

After not being available for a match earlier in the season the Management team drafted in Ben Chapman. The form of Ben has been so strong it has left Chris with limited opportunities for first team football.

After a brief meeting with the Chairman and management, Chris asked for permission to explore opportunities to play with other teams. This has resulted in the cancellation of his contract at Leek Town by mutual consent, Chris is expected to sign for local rivals and neighbours Kidsgrove Athletic.

Chairman Jon Eeles commented "Chris is a popular figure at the Club and has been a great servant during the two seasons with us. He has behaved impeccably throughout this period and I would like to wish him the very best of luck for the future. I spoke to Ian Cooper at Kidsgrove and we agreed an amicable solution for all parties."

Leek Town visit Kidsgrove Athletic on Monday 2nd January - the recent crossover of players between the two Clubs will add further spice to what is always a must see fixture.
