Repeat Heat on 13s

Lightcliffe under 13s 96-8 lost to Cleckheaton 149-1 by 53 runs. Bradford Junior Cricket League under 13s South Division Thursday 2nd August.

Lightcliffe under 13s were under no illusion about their task in their final League fixture as this was a repeat of the game from the previous week. Unfortunately the match went to form, with Cleckheaton dominating the game from start to finish with some aggressive batting and overall superior performance.

Will Smith possible doubled his runs conceded total this season in his one over, as opener Darling retired for 30 in only 4 overs. Few of the home bowlers managed to finish with economical statistics as 3 Cleckheaton batters retired unbeaten on 30, with Lightcliffe conceding their highest total of the season.

On a positive note Michael Broadbent took his first wicket for the club and a number of other showed some improved form with the ball, notably Max Greenwood.

In reply, there was limited expectation of chasing down the total, but once again Will Smith continued his fine form with a classy 30 not out.

George Hodkinson found some form with a good dozen and overall the team were not disgraced in reaching a respectable 96 in the fading light
