The Whites slumped to a loss that at half time looked most unlikely. The away side dominated the first half and Tom Garrick’s headed goal was scant reward for their dominance. At least two efforts were cleared off the line and the home side offered little in the way of threat.
It was Garrick's third goal of the season.
Gresley responded to whatever their management said during the interval and came at Lincoln United much more as soon as the second half started. This was coupled with the Whites again starting a half sluggishly.
The home side equalised when a cross was converted by an unmarked striker and minutes later spurred on with new-found confidence they took the lead with a well-taken penalty.
United huffed and puffed but really only forced the home keeper into one decent save from a Rob Norris effort late on.
The Whites have endured a poor run with two draws and three defeats in the last five games. They have had spells in games where they have looked impressive but have failed to do so for a full ninety minutes often letting the opposition take control and conceding sloppy goals.
United have an opportunity to put things right when they travel to bottom of the table Pickering in midweek.
