LONGBENTON FC FOLDS UP - AN END OF A ERA

LONGBENTON FC Have folded after 7 seasons which had taken them from the bottom end of Div 2 Tyneside Amateur League to Div 1 Northern Alliance League.
With 10 games to play in 4 weeks, the Manager Keith Thompson, could not get enough players to field a team. at the risk of fines for failing to fulfill fixtures the Board had little option but to close the club down
"I would like to thank all the players/ ex-players/ staff and supporters who have contributed to an amazing Football club, the likes of which will never be seen again. It's has been an honour to be involved.
