Team to face Spalding

By Chris Brookes

Head Coach Murray McConnell makes seven changes from last weeks narrow win at Stafford in the National Cup.

“Del Veenendall's long awaited debut”
With table toppers Long Eaton facing a long journey to South Lincolnshire to face the challenge of last season relegated Spalding, McConnell names an experienced and fast team to meet the challenge head on. The exciting and talented Del Veenendaal makes his long awaited debut for the Blues at outside centre after injuring himself in pre season. Murray added we have a real set of talented boys who are looking forward to the physical challenge that Spalding will bring. Our challenge is to up the performance from last week, where we played well in patches but were not consistent against a good Stafford team. The positive is that training has been really good this week with an added enthusiasm and will to get better. In a late change Colt, Jimmy Jowett is set to make his 1st XV debut from the bench. With Wakefield still struggling with his leg, and now a week away from full fitness, Atu comes into the starting XV. DoR Matt Everard said, Jimmy is bright star of the future for the Club and would already get in many of the Leagues 1st XV's, but our talent pool of backs means he has performing at the top of the Colts squad all season.
The Game is at Memorial Field, St Thomas Road, Spalding, PE11 2TT, with KO at 3.00pm.
