Big win for 2's

By Wayne Jones

Charlie hits hattrick in a must win game for Reserves.

Hooky's Reserve team were looking at an embarrassing defeat at half time on Saturday when they found themselves 2-0 at the break to bottom of the table Dursley Town.
The second half turned into a goalfest for the lads with Sam Wines pulling one back with an early penalty. The guilty party was shown the first of 3 red cards for his team.

Charlie Powell soon bagged the first of his 3 when he equalised with a neat finish, he added another not long after to put the lads in front for the first time.

The hosts ran up a total of 3 red cards and handed the game to us. Toby scored a fine goal to give us a 4-2 lead and Charlie completed his hattrick with another opportunist strike late on and it finished 2-5.
The points were more than welcome and the lads climbed above neighbours Lydbrook in the table.
Unfortunately, we are unable to build on the win this weekend as planned opponents Whaddon Utd are playing in the County Cup.

The 3rd took a right pasting in their cup tie with Staunton & Course, conceding 13 without reply. The 4th side continue to defy the odds with a good home win against Sling.
Two strikes from Dan Baldwin and another from Stuart Hales were enough to seal a 3-2 win.
