Manchester got the victory over Lymm that their playing skills and commitment fully deserved by Game 3 of a good morning of Cheshire Rugby.

Lymm won the toss in Game 1 and elected to attack. The Tigers coaches gave Ollie, Josh, Luke and Myles a rest throughout this game and the starting 7 were caught off guard at the first whistle, with Lymm running straight through to make the first score of the match. The Tigers were also confused that Manchester were refereeing the match and this only added to the slow start that the boys made. From the restart, The Tigers knocked on, handing the ball right back to Lymm with them going over again to stretch their lead to 2. This at last brought the Tigers to life and Eddie roared over for his first try of the day after some great interlinking with William and Alex that gave a half time score of 2-1 to Lymm.

The Tigers took the restart and good ball carrying and off loads led to Bill going over to level the scores, game on.......or so we thought!! Lymm just blew The Tigers away after this try! Admittedly, the refereeing would have to be questioned, definitely not his best display, with even his own son turning on him after some very, let's say, unhelpful decisions! Alex went over for the Tigers third, but the final score was an unflattering 6-3 victory for Lymm.

Game 2 saw Eddie, Alex, Louis and Fin taking a breather and the crowds anticipation grew as our two wingers, Luke and Josh took to the playing field. It is true that they made a difference and ran in three scores between them, but it was too little too late after yet another very slow start to the game, with the half time score being 3-1 to the home side. Game 2 did see the best score of the day with excellent ball handling and a long pass to finish the move off to see Alex going over in the corner for his second of the day. The game finished 6-4 to Lymm and the Tigers had only one more match to make a difference.

As the Tigers lined up for Game 3, everyone could tell that something had happened. The boys were a team for the first time in the day. They were playing for pride and nothing was going to get in their way! Lymm took the toss and elected to play, probably feeling confident that they wouyld again run straight through the Tigers and score, but.... this was not to be! The Tigers came out like Tasmanian Devils taking tag after tag and were unrelenting in their pursuit of victory. The ball was turned over and good incisive running from Ollie and then Fin led to the Tigers taking the lead for the first time. A lead they were never to relinquish. Both teams saw that this was going to be the match of the day and Lymm tagged as if their lives too depended on a victory. At half time it was still only 0-1 in the Tigers favour.

Lymm began the second half, but they were again knocked back by the ferocious Tigers tagging. This final onslaught just took the wind from their sales and the Tigers just grew and grew in confidence, blowing Lymm away with their running, passing and commitment to each other. The home side were already defeated and the half had only just begun. The dancing feet of Myles was much in evidence today though the ref gave a penalty against him for very direct running, sending Lymm players flying like skittles. Ollie too, led the way with his direct running and only a bad tag call lost him the chance to go over for a wonder try after running nearly the length of the pitch. There was still time on the clock for Josh and Luke to get in on the act with yet another pair of tries between them, but the best try of this Game was Eddie going over in the corner after Ollie had fed him the ball from one of his fantastic runs. The Tigers roared to a fantastic 1-5 victory over a dumbfounded Lymm side who just didn't know what to do to stop the tide of Tigers at them at every play of the game.

Today's marvellous marauders were, (tries in brackets), Ollie, Luke(2), Josh(3), Eddie(3), Myles, Alex(2), Bill(1), Will, Louis, Fin(1) and Tom.
Well done to all the boys, a team effort to really be proud of. See you on Sunday when we take on the unknown talents of Waterloo at home.
