The Tigers take on Lymm at the home of The Sharks

By Ian Roberts

Manchester U8s played their part in a gripping game at Edgeley Park against a tough Lymm side.

In a very close game, Lymm triumphed over a brave display from our young Tigers. Ollie captained the side in a thrilling encounter at Edgeley Park against Lymm. The Tigers lost the toss and were caught flat footed at the start with Lymm securing an early two try advantage.

As the Tigers looked for a breakthrough, it was a long looping pass to Alex that finally got the Tigers night up and running. This time it was Lymm on the back foot and Manchester came at them again from the restart. They managed turnover ball but were not able to capitalise on it as Lymm defended stoutly, taking the ball back after 7 good tags and surging forward as the Tigers rolled on the subs. As the Tigers changed over, Lymm took full advantage and went over for their third try of the night. Again the Tigers rallied with great passing along the line sending Alex over yet again for his second of the night.

It was nip and tuck with both Josh and Luke going over to keep the Tigers within one score of Lymm as the end of the match loomed. One last brave assault of the Lymm line, but it was not meant to be and with the ref blowing final whistle, the Tigers came off second best but proud of a great performance in front of an enthralled 5,500 Shark fans.

Where next?

Winter Whiteout for the Tigers It's been "snow fun" at all for the Tigers over the last month. As Christmas approaches, the Tigers have only managed one training session in weeks.
