U9s v Tupton
By Kaylie Stuart
Report by Trev Cooke
The last time we played Tupton we loaned them 3 players and narrowly won 4 : 3 at home.
We had to loan out 2 players once again, for them to honour the fixture, (but not Edger!!)
The refereeing was shared between their coach and me, two sessions each. It was a hard fought affair, their ref having to have words with his own players about high tackles and a clash of heads.
The pre-match instruction was, “Tackle early when they have the ball and support our player when we go forward”.
No one disappointed, all players played their part and we won all 4 sessions:-
3 : 0, 2 : 0, 2 : 0 and 1 : 0. Total, 8 tries to 0.
Try scorers were:- Warwick x 3, Coleman x 2, Wigley x 2, Bonnar.
Man of the Match was Will Warwick, not just for the 3 tries he scored, but his tackling and “no step backwards attitude”.
We are really starting to work as a team now......and doesn’t it show.
Well done.
Coaching next week and then RAF Cranwell Tour on the 27th, 28th and 29th April.
