Orrell 54 – 5 Marple
It was another long trip, another much changed line-up & another heavy loss.
The less said about the 1st half the better.
The home-side, although dangerous, were made to look like a free flowing England Scotland side throwing the ball around at-will and scoring tries for the fun of it.
In the 2nd half Marple offered-up more of a contest, making some tackles and enjoying more territory.
The only real highlight of the game came when the Marple pack pushed Orrell off their own scrum put-in winning the ball against the head allowing No.9 Boot to scamper towards the try-line. After being stopped just short quick recycling allowed Biggs to score.
Late-on the Orrell right-winger crossed for his hat-trick with Marple again ending the match short on numbers after injuries to Young (Nose) Greevy (Knee) & Thompson (Old-Age) Get well soon all.
A nod to Charlie & Sully on making their 1st XV debuts, better times will lay ahead for both
