Match Report by Sean Brett - (minimal help from Graham Hughes, as some of the action that took place during the 90 minutes were missed)
Today saw us face Talysarn in league action, having seen Talysarn fall apart against Bodedern last week the Tigers might have expected an easy afternoon but Talysarn arrive with an entirely different side and we're ready to play!
The first half was a story of tigers dominating possession but only creating a couple of half chances with Andrew Wannop going close.
Talysarn were competing all over especially in midfield with the no 8 recording the impressive 1st half stats of balls kicked 1 tigers players kicked 21!!!!
Half Time 0-0
The message at half time was continue to keep believing in what we were trying to do and the chances would come and 3 minutes in it came! Gareth Barker received the ball on the edge of the area a fantastic turn and left foot finish to the top corner! 1-0 tigers.
The game continued in the same pattern as the 1st half with tigers dominating possession without finishing the game off!
An injury to the Talysarn keeper (pulled a muscle in his gluteus maximus) saw a replacement keeper who seemed to be playing bingo! 5 goal kicks and 5 different gardens hit, full house!!!
86 minutes in a fantastic team move involving Owain 'Ows' Roberts and Tom Parry put Callum Davidson through on goal and without breaking stride finish brilliantly to make it 2-0.
In the final few minutes we saw a blatant penalty on Tom Parry was waived away by the ref (9.9 for the dive Tom) and a major miscontrol of Tim Evans when he had all day to control the ball... no Tim decided to try and stand on the ball... as the tigers looked to see the game out.
In the final seconds of the game Talysarn grab a consolation goal.
Full time Score - Menai Bridge Tigers 2 - 1 Talysarn Celts
Although the scoreline was close this was a game in which the tigers were never in danger and dominated.
