Today we had a number of players back in the fold from the squads we have had for the last two games, everyone fighting to get into the 16 for next week’s final.
After last week’s performance at Llanystumdwy we knew that this was going to be a tough game.
In the 1st minutes Sion Parry should have put Stumdwy ahead but his effort went the wrong side of the post.
On 5 mins Llan took the lead when Iwan Richards hit a rocket from about 12 yards.
On 28th Mins a long ball from Lee Moore, was flicked on by Gareth Barker and Dave Baston made no mistake to make it 1-1.
Rest of the 1st half both teams cancelling each other out and some strange decisions from the referee.
Half time Menai Bridge Tigers 1 – 1 Llanystumdwy
The game continued in the same manner with both teams creating some half chances, but neither team could take the lead.
On 60 mins Gareth Barker was replaced Elliot Parry-Jones
Both teams were going for the win to try and get the vital three points to get higher up the league.
With 15mins left Tom Parry who had made a mad dash from work to try and get to the game for half time, but had only just arrived. Tom being Tom took all of 90 seconds to get changed and came on to replace the every running Dave Baston.
Sean and Spon could say that this sub was a tactical master class and the last 13 mins was all Tigers and Tom Parry was 1st and 2nd to everything.
89mins – Some brilliant work between Jamie Aston and Guy Hughes put Guy through on the wing and a brilliant cut back to the penalty spot by Guy and Jamie placed the ball passed the out rushing Llan keeper.
90 mins Callum Davidson, Tom Parry and Jamie Aston worked an opening and a defence splitting ball off Jamie put Guy through on goal and he slotted the ball into the net….
As we thought that the next thing you would hear was the ref’s whistle.. but not from the kick off the Llan full back had other ideas when he played the ball across the defence only for Andy Wannop to beat the centre half and run through on goal and make it 4 – 1.
