Menai Bridge Tigers 4-1 CPD Talysarn Celts
After last weeks disappointment of losing at Holyhead Town in the Welsh Cup, we needed to get back on track in the league and that's what they did.
We had a few missing (Shaun Lock, Darren Gowans, Kevin Roberts and Ryan Owen) and into the squad came Callum Davidson, Guy Hughes and Lewis Hughes.
From the off Celts were on the defensive and tried to hit the bridge on the counter attack. The deadlock was broken on 20mins when Sion Hogan got into the box and the Talysarn defender pushed him off the ball and the referee had no option but to point to the spot. Dean Redmond took responsibility as the usual penalty taker Darren Gowans away and sent the keeper the wrong way.
Half Time - Tigers 1 - 0 Celts
On 58 mins Tigers won a corner and the ball was swung into the box and Sion Hogan rose higher than everyone and headed the ball passed the keeper.
On the hour Guy Hughes (1st start on his return to the Tigers) was replaced by Callum Davidson and within 60 seconds of getting the pitch Davidson beat the full back and pull the ball back to the penalty spot where Curls took a touch and sent the defender the wrong way and calmly slotted the ball passed the keeper to make it 3-0.
66 mins a through ball put Curls through on goal and as he got into the box the talysarn defender clipped his heels and referee pointed to the spot. Up stepped Curls and smashed in his third and his 1st hat-trick for the club.
subs Dale Owens and Dean Redmond replaced by Darren Jones and Dave Baston
88mins - a corner for Celts and Jac Jones scored a consolation goal.
