The start of the road towards PCS accreditation!

By arnie yule

Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS) has been found to benefit clubs. Our kickoff event is scheduled for Monday 21 January 2013, starting at 7.45pm.

Murrayfield Wandererers have decided to apply for a 'Positive Coaching Scotland' award.

The aims of this programme, which is supported by both the SRU and the
'Bill McLaren Foundation' are outlined in the web link below:
http://www.scottishrugby.org/community/content/view/4241/1226/

In summary, it focuses on the wide development of a strong club culture, across all sections of the club. This culture will be as welcoming to mini players and their parents as it is to a member of the 1st XV; it will also reinforce positive behaviours, considered key to the sport of rugby for each of us personally (players and non-players).

The Kick-off event will explain the programme and shape what we want to get out of it. All MW officials, coaches, managers and significant others are encouraged to attend. It is though open to all members, since its success is dependent on a grassroot involvement.

At the core of the programme is the Mini-midi section. The mini section have started the process by asking their parents for input: to identify key areas requiring work, through completing the survey (attached below), and returning to their coach by 16 December. Midi parents are asked to please modify as appropriate and complete the survey too.
