Newbury Stags fight to the end but are beaten by a very strong Redingensians III squad, possibly made stronger as Redingensians II match was called off
Redingensians attack from the kick off and after several minutes spent in Stags half open the scoring when they kick a penalty, 0-3 5 mins
Stags restart and are soon under pressure in defence, Redingensians keep hold of the ball and after several minutes of attacking play breach the Stags defence to score the first try 0-8 8 mins
From the restart kick Stags put Redingensians under pressure forcing them to kick clear, Stags run back at Redingensians and get well into their half before they lose possession, Redingensians counter attack then kick clear, Stags gather and quickly spread the ball wide making good ground before Ben Sherratt makes a good run around the defender to score a well worked try Will Carlisle adds the conversion 7-8 12 mins
Redingensians manage to regain possession from the restart kick and get up to Stags 22 before a knock on gives Stags a defensive scrum, Stags win and clear upfield, the next few minutes are spent in midfield.

Stags are penalised on half way allowing Redingensians to put in touch deep in Stags half, from the lineout they attack and get a scrum, Redingensians attack from their scrum and break the Stags defence to score and convert 7-15 25 mins
Redingensians have the better of the rest of the half apart from one good chance to Stags when Ben Sherratt kicks through and gets his boot to the ball for a second time only for it to beat him and roll over the dead ball line, Redingensians end the half camped in Stags 22 getting a penalty which they kick and Stags a yellow card for a professional foul 7-18 halftime

From the kick-off Stags get into Redingensians 22 but concede a penalty allowing Redingensians to clear to touch and relieve the pressure, Stags win the lineout and again put pressure on Redingensians defence but a spilt ball halts their progress, Redingensians kick long and the ball rolls into touch in Stags 22. Stags win a penalty and kick to touch, lineout won Stags run the ball but lose it in the tackle allowing Redingensians to get into Stags 22 and win a penalty scrum, Redingensians forwards put in a big shove and their pack trundles over to score, plus the conversion 7-25 46 mins
Redingensians are now playing the better rugby and straight from the Stags restart kick run from their own 22 to score a breakaway bonus point 4th try and convert 7-32 48 mins
A few minutes later Redingensians have got more points when they run through the Stags defence to score and convert 7-39 52 mins
Stags don’t give up and a good period of Stags possession is rewarded with a try when some good running rugby from the Carlisle brothers results in Ben Sherratt making the final yards to score his second try 12-39 65 mins
Redingensians respond and a few minutes later have managed to breach the Stags defence to score and convert, 12-46 70 mins
Stags keep going and some good attacking runs from Edward Clark, Sasha Efimov, Matt Gill, Steve Denner means Stags are unlucky not to add to their points, the game ends when Redingensians defending well in their own 22 steal the ball and run the length of the pitch to score 12-51 Full time
Stags probably didn’t deserve to lose by such a margin, a purple patch for Redingensians just after half time resulted in 3 quick try’s and really turned the game
