Rocket Reedys Ridiculous Rasping Header

By

Where are you, where are you ? Delia screamed (to the missing players)

On the sunniest day of the year so far a rather depleted Newmarket squad took on Newnham All Stars on a very lumpy bumpy Dullingham pitch, with moaner Conner's leading the line for Newmarket and Brennan looking to support him from midfield, Hacker huffing and puffing up the right and Old Percy on the left, Little John in centre midfield and Old Boats sitting deep in front of the back four of Pub Si, ugly Crawf, Colonel Col and Shaun with Badclock in goal and only Reedy and Bob O as back up.
Brennan had to leave the pitch early suffering with a racing heart rate which was nothing to do with his work rate as he didn't do anything! anyway Big Bob O came on looking like a bloke that had drunk 10 pints of Guinness the night before, although Newmarket did make Newnham work hard in the first half but still allowed them to take a one goal advantage into the break, at times like this manager Klipperty earned his title and pumps up his players making them feel really special with the team talk, "well we haven't got any subs but me, so as you were" chests pumped up Newmarket took to the field for the second half.
Newmarket's Little John who actually has a bit of pace took on the whole Newnham defence and bamboozled them with some rather dazzling footwork and scored after also going around the keeper. Newmarket started to struggle as the suns heat and the visitors superior fitness began to tell, to be fair Newmarket's keeper Bladdercock kept his side in the game with some good saves but couldn't stop the Newnham header to take the lead again. Newnhams young bustling forwards were beginning finding space easier and went further ahead, Newmarket's Guinness Tanker Bob O was down injured and Reedy came on to show his team how it was done, the first thing he showed us was how to fall over running backwards, closely followed by how to fall over running forwards, this was good stuff but laugh no longer as Hacker secured his future team selection by sending a cross over for Reedy to smash home with his nose, shirt pulled over his face Reedy took a slow confident jog back to his own half to take in the congrats.
