Welcome to Northwich Rugby Union Football Club U9s. Coach Chris Blower

“EVERY CHILD MATTERS”

Northwich Rugby Club is all about putting the children first and having as much fun as possible! We focus on skill development and enjoyment to bring out the best in each player.
The basics will always stay the same: we will help ALL of our players to develop their core skills of CATCHING, PASSING, RUNNING, and KICKING.

This is the first season we play full contact rugby, with player safety absolutely our top priority. As a result mouth guards are mandatory. Please ask if you need some advice about mouth guards.

To be eligible for the U9's your son or daughter must be aged 8 on 1st September (Year 4)

We would ask that parents:
- Ensure that there is an adult present who is responsible for their child during the sessions.
- Respect the spirit of rugby with positive encouragement for ALL teams and absolutely no criticism of refereeing decisions and no coaching from the touch line.
- Are prepared for their children to play in both home and away games.
- We deliberately mix boys and girls from different schools and different abilities in order to encourage an inclusive approach to rugby.

We ensure that they understand and follow Rugby's five core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Disciple and Sportsmanship.

We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.15am until 12.00 noon for training and matches.
If you are new to rugby then trainers or football/rugby boots and comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather.

So please bring appropriate clothing for the conditions!

Our pre-season fun starts on the 5th September 2021 and we look forward to seeing you all there.

We are a squad with a great team ethos, supported by a wonderful cohort of parents, coaches and managers. We focus on skills development and tailored coaching delivered in a fun and supportive way. Year 4 children are welcome to play in our U9’s team, and we welcome all new and old to the game!
