A great team performance

“To go down to ten men for so long and keep a clean sheet just epitomises what this squad is about” Grant Black

Grant Black has hailed “a great team performance” from his side following the 1-0 Evo-Stik North victory at Tadcaster Albion last night.

Ossett Town had to play for over 60 minutes with ten men after Isaac Assenso was dismissed conceding a penalty that Leigh Overton stopped.

“To go down to ten men for so long and keep a clean sheet just epitomises what this squad is about” says Black “their discipline and work rate to keep Tadcaster out was a mammoth effort. There were some great individual performances and the way the team stuck it out was fantastic”.

“We had players having to do jobs that doesn’t come naturally to them , they stuck to the task to ensure the result. A result I don’t think should be underestimated under those circumstances. Overall I am proud of the players who keep on impressing in everything they do, win lose or draw”.

“These lads give their all and that is all that we ask for at Ossett Town. Their quality is shining through and the self-belief is there as a group. Now we need to keep going and see where it takes us”.
