Percy Main v Whitley Bay 'A' Saturday October 7th'17

This Saturday, Percy Main host Whitley Bay at Purvis Park in another Northern Alliance Premier division game, kick off is 2:30.

The fixture normally provides a competitive game with no shortage of goals, (all too often in our net though I must say!) however this time around, with The Main currently sitting one place above the relegation zone and Whitley only a point better off, both sides will be going all out for a vital win to kick start the season.

A damning statistic, is that Percy Main have failed to beat Whitley in our last 10 meetings in cup and league, including a 6-0 reverse near the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign and we have to think back to a midweek encounter on August 29th 2012 for the last time that we triumphed over today's opposition.

On that day, the then Main team manager was Gareth Allen, who was to stay only a few more short months and we were indebted to Chris Doug's 15th minute goal which gave us a narrow 1-0 verdict at Hillheads Park. Time to redress the balance perhaps?t
