PRFC Awards Dinner, 2018

By Adam Pattinson

Much to celebrate for the Perthshire Family.

“That Alan Clark is some speaker!” Alan Clark

A massive 'THANK YOU' from PRFC goes to all those who attended and contributed to our end of season awards dinner on Friday 25th at the Salutation Hotel. Huge 'CONGRATULATIONS' go to all those who were lucky enough to win awards on the night:

For the first time, a trophy was given to the Mini Team of the Year and the P7s were the recipients after a hugely positive season both on and off the pitch.

James Mair saw off stiff competition to win the Colts' Player prize while Pete Cowen scooped the honours for 2nd XV Player.

Young Player of the Year was awarded to Jack McIntosh and Calum Bruce took the plaudits as Most Improved Player.

Birthday Boy Ewen MacDonald had an evening to remember as he completed a staggering double, winning 1st XV Player of the Year and Players' Player too! Ewen is the first person to take home the brand new Watson Trophy, ever so kindly donated to the club by the wonderful Granny G (Georgie). Her support of the first team has been unerring for years and the Club is fortunate to have somebody like her to call a member, supporter and friend.

The Club Team of the Year award was won by the U14s after a dominant conference campaign and for the excellent work of the coaches, managers and parents. Here's to another successful campaign next season!

The final award, Club Person of the Year, was handed to the exceptionally talented, committed and inspirational Jeremy Wares. Since his arrival, he has coached through the ranks in the Mini Section and used his immeasurable culinary skills to elevate and refine the catering at various PRFC events; most notably, the Beer Festival. He even managed to get the Calcutta Cup along for the day. What a guy, and what a deserving winner of the highest award our Club has to offer. He can even give a Michelin Starred acceptance speech!

Thanks again to all those who came, who spoke, who were nominated and those who won. Thanks to all of you who have given freely of your time throughout the season to support our Club. We just couldn't do it without you!

See you in the off-season!
