Annual Awards & Dinner

Will Lloyd wins Player's Player & Clubman awards!

Saturday evening saw Argaum's players and families attend the annual Dinner Dance.

Fresh from the Chairman v President game, the club descended on the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club on a beautiful evening with views rivaling those seen at Bickleigh Down.

Chairman, Nick Hancock and wife Lucy were there to host the evening in the first outing since Nick was admitted to hospital with a heart attack and subsequently underwent heart bypass surgery. They were welcomed back with a heartfelt round of applause.

Will 'Jabba' Lloyd was star of the show, winning the Clubman award along with the highly coveted 'Players Player' Trophy.

Mark Sullivan and his coaching team awarded Best Newcomer to Euan Collins, who ended the season in fine form. Coaches Player was John Fulton. Fulton couldn't be there on the night, but the performances he put in over the season had been fantastic. Tom Bradshaw, was mentioned in dispatches. The 19year old graduated from Argaum's Colts last year.

Most Improved Player was Adam Griffiths, who arrived in pre-season having not played since school. Again, an Argaum Junior player, coming back into the fold.

The Captain's Award was presented by John Ireland to Joe Walker, another who started his rugby journey at Argaum, but graduated from Ivybridge's successful setup.

Calum Mills was awarded the Effort Award, voted for by the committee, for his commitment to coaching, training and playing throughout the season.

The Jenny Daniels Trophy was awarded to Bridgette Raymont. The trophy is given to a non-player who goes beyond the call of duty for the club.

Finally, Ali Murray was presented with the Teddy Thrower award! Voted for by his peers, most will agree that he thoroughly deserved this accolade.

A great night was had by all and saw outgoing coach Sullivan given a guard of honour to mark his time at the club, the members certainly showing their appreciation for his time and input over the last 15 months.
