Reserves Score 6 to Keep in Touch with Top Three

By

The lads comfortably beat Penybont on their 3G to keep in touch with the top three as Cardiff Met continue to dominate

With 2 losses this season the lads possibly need to win all their games to have a chance of beating Cardiff Met to the title

They did though maintain contact with a storming six goal win at Penybont in the rain and wind

A good start was needed and immediately the lads went on the attack and the first goal looked inevitable. It came on 10 minutes from Kobe Westmoreland and from then on it looked like the lads go on to bag a hatful (0-1). Penybont in fairness were playing well and did go close on occasions but they went 2 down on 27 minutes when Town striker Kaiden Wheeler benefited from an excellent advantage played by the official to score (0-2)

There were no further goals in the first half but after just 8 minutes of the second half Oliver Schofield, who had come on as a second half substitute, netted a 3rd and that put the game out of sight (0-3). Ollie then capitalised on a Penybont mistake to net his second and Town's 4th (0-4).

Penybont were now getting a little frustrated with the official and the game was starting to get heated. The young Town side, marshalled by elder statesman Arwel Rees, kept their composure and on 80 minutes another substitute, Nat Morgan, got a goal (0-5) and almost immediately, even before the Twitter account was updated, Andjezs Dubjaga scored a 6th for Pontardawe Town (0-6).

There could have been more but a 6-0 win at Penybont, who are always tough opponents, was a good return as the lads go into a quiet Christmas period
