Having lost to Medicals in the cup Pont returned for a League visit, winning 25-24

With two young sides this was a game of pace and counter attack from both sides. With Long out injured the back row of McKenna, Searle and West served notice as they tackled and counter rucked as if their lives depended on it. Good forward pressure saw West over for the first score as Chick converted 7-0 (12 min) . The end to end stuff continued as Medicals forced their way over for a converted try 7-7 (25 min) forward pressure again told as Chick made it 10-7 (30 min) . Medicals again pressed forwards and a dropped ball on Pont's 22 saw the visitors sweep upfield as inter passing from Chick and Walton saw the latter dive over to make it 15-7 (40 min) at half time
With Jezz on for Baron and Boona for Browne Medicals struck first with a penalty 15-10 (44 min) . The spectators hardly caught their breath as a clever kick through by Lawson saw Chick make it 18-10 from a penalty (51 min) with Stewart replacing Freer the visiting pack turned the screws and with the Medicals scrum in tatters a penalty try was the only outcome 25-10 (62 min) Pont were looking good for a W until Laser saw yellow and the tide turned. A sequence of ten consecutive penalties turned the game. Some were for indiscipline whilst others were inexplicable to the watching crowd. The pressure then saw Medicals score two converted tries (68 min) & (78 min)
With Laser back on the pitch Pont pressed into the home half as Medicals desperately tried to break out. Pont missed an easy penalty but managed to hold Medicals at arms length to finish the game 25-24

At 25-10 with 15 minutes to go Pont were cruising to victory. A lack of discipline almost saw victory snatched away but in the end Pont held out for a solid win .
