On a wet evening a crowd of 104 certainly saw a game of two halves.
The visitors got off to a dream start when in the first minute a free kick from the edge of the box from Tom Bruno saw nobody move and the ball found the top left hand corner of the net.
The home side then settled and got back into the game without really threatening in the final third.
A second from the visitors after a good move that saw full back Joe Clemo fire low into the left hand corner on 39 mins suggested the visitors were now in the driving seat.
HT 0-2
The second half saw a much improved performance form the home side.
They should have reduced the arrears on 51 mins when Femi Ogunsola was brought down it the box. But Eoin Casey’s initial shot was parried by the keeper and the rebound was fired over the bar by the same player.
But the score line was reduced on 57 mins when Eoin Casey was at the near post to head home a corner.
A twice taken free kick leads to the equaliser on 73 mins when Femi Ogunsola chipped the keeper from the edge of the box.
The ‘Scholars’ dominated the second half but could not find the winner their second half performance deserved.
A heavy pitch was to play a part with hamstring injures as well as illness – so a waiting game to see who is fit for our big day out at Hereford on Saturday.
