There's no business like SNOW business!

And so on with the show - with huge thanks to Maidenhead RFC's staff and volunteers and their Artificial Grass Pitch.

“On behalf of myself and everyone at Redingensians Rams, I would like to thank all those involved in enabling us to play three fixtures last Saturday afternoon. An incredible achievement.” Gary Reynolds - Rams CEO & DOR

If ever the value of an Artificial Grass Pitch could be seen it was on Saturday 3rd March. While the rest of the country called off games due to the snow, for us, Saturday was a great success, especially as we were the only team in the National 2 league and throughout most of the country, to fulfil our fixture.
It took a considerable amount of effort from Maidenhead RFC, Wimbledon RFC and a group of fantastic volunteers to deal with the logistics, referees, RFU and NCA, which all started at the beginning of the week after looking at the dire weather predictions . Then there was the small matter of the AGP being covered in snow. Maidenhead’s members (assisted at the end by a few Rams stalwarts pictured) worked tirelessly throughout Friday afternoon and evening, and most of Saturday morning, to clear tonnes of snow from the surface. But in the end, we played three games on a pristine pitch.

James Ogilvie-Bull - Wimbledon RFC 1st XV Manager
On behalf of Wimbledon RFC I would just like to add our thanks to Redingensians Rams, Maidenhead RFC and all those who helped to get the matches played. While the results didn't go they way we would have liked the fact that all the teams were able to get out there and play in what were 2 highly contested games shows that the spirit of rugby is alive and well! We do hope that we are able to build on this relationship in the years to come and in the meantime we wish you all the best for the remainder of the season.
