David Crist and Paul Foy were sent off on the stroke of half time in Litherland REMYCA's 3-1 defeat away to Pontefract Colleries in the FA Vase first round.
After a coming together of both teams, the referee brandish three red cards with the other being handed to Scott Brown of Colls.
It was a good affair up until that point, with Ponte leading 2-0 at the half way mark thanks to a penalty from Eli Hey and a Vaughan Redford goal.
Redford snapped up a ball in the area following a mix up with Stephen Ferrigan failing to clear his lines.
Colin Quirk showed bright sparks and almost scored from the half way line, striking the post with goalkeeper Ryan Musselwhite caught out.
Foy looked bright early on with REMYCA on the counter attack, and at one point was brought down in the area but no penalty was given.
He also saw an effort bend narrowly wide of the Musselwhite's far post when he cut in and curled a strike at goal.
Hey's second goal seemed to wrap the game up, but Joel Douglas gave REMYCA some late hope but the REMY couldn't capitalise and grab a win.
Next up for REMYCA is a trip to St Helens Town in LCFA Senior Cup on Thursday night.
