Chris Parke Update

By Richard Haigh

Progress report on Chris from David Woodward

I have spoken to Chris’s dad who advises that Chris is making steady but positive progress. They have removed his neck brace during the day and are now very slowly taking him off the ventilator. Currently he is having three 75 minute sessions each day without breathing support and using a voice box to speak. His upper body movement continues to improve and his doctors are delighted with his progress all be it very slowly.
They are taking him outside his room some days for a bit of fresh air and the attached photo shows Chris with Molly the Therapy Dog.
It is now 10 weeks since the accident and he has been in Critical Care all this time. We hope that as many of you as possible can turn out and support the Sponsored Walk to take place on 21st October to raise funds to support him and his family in the future.
He is very happy to receive visitors so if you can pop in sometime he and his parents would love to see you.
He is in Critical Care, Room 16 in the City Hospital, Hucknall, Nottingham. I park in either the Purple or yellow Car park.
