SHIREBROOK MAKE HARD WORK OF IT AWAY AT BASEMENT CLUB

Shirebrook struggled to a 3-1 win away to basement club Lincoln Moorlands thanks to a goal from Greenfield and 2 from Currie

There were 2 changes from the previous week with Shepherd and Hill coming into the team for Osborne and Shaw

Shirebrook could have been behind within the first 30 seconds but Moorland number 10 couldn't keep the shot down but Shirebrook began to get a grip of the game but couldn't find the target with Getliff, Greenfield, and Outram all putting shots wide of the target but Shirebrook did get the first goal of the game in the 15th minute when Outram was played in down the left and his cross found Currie who scored his 14th of the season but the home side didn't let there heads drop and forced Dean to pull off a number of saves to keep the away side in it but Shirebrook got to half time with there lead in tact.

The home side came out stronger again at the start of the second half and leveled the scores in the 46th minute through Ian Ward Moorlands then had a 5 minute spell where they could have taken the lead but Shirebrook again had Dean to thank for keeping them in the game but as the game wore on the home side started to tire and the pace of subs Rowley and Ord began to stretch the game Shirebrook retook the lead in the 59th minute when the ball found its way to Greenfield on the right and he cut inside and the keeper let the shot go through his legs and it rolled into the net with subs Ord and Rowley both hitting the post it looked like that would be the end of the scoring but in the 89th minute Ord was played in down the left and squared it to Currie who made sure Shirebrook were taking all 3 points home.

Shirebrook are back in action next Saturday when Penistone visit langwith road 3pm ko
