The home side came out the blocks flying and had Shirebrook under pressure from the get go and Shirebrook keeper Warren Squries had to be on top form to keep Grimsby out but Shirebrook did start to get into the game with Kieren Watson and Tate Clarke both testing the Grimsby keeper but with Grimsby finished the half strongest of the team and had chances to take the lead but again Shirebrook managed to keep everything out.
Shirebrook came out a different side at the start of the 2nd half with Kieren Watson and Declan Brewin both going close to opening the scoring and the first goal of the game did arrive in the 55th minute when Declan Brewin turned his man and smashed the ball into the bottom corner but 10 minutes later Brewin went from hero to zero when he picked up 2 yellow cards in quick succession and Shirebrook were left to play the last 20 minutes with 10 men and Grimsby threw everything at Shirebrook in the last 20 minutes and with 2 minutes to go Grimsby leveled the scores a cross from the right was deflected into the net by Chris Timons and Shirebrook had to settle for a point to finish the season.
Shirebrook now have to wait to see who they will be playing in the playoffs with 3 potential teams they could come up against.
