The game started off really well and saw some good hockey by both sides but it was Sleaford who took and early advantage with first half goals from Ed and Nick although Nick's goal took a nice deflection goalwards after his shot appeared to be going wide. This wasn't any less than Sleaford deserved though.
The second half saw Spalding up their game and they took control and scored 3 goals without reply as Sleaford appeared to lose their shape. Being 2:3 down seemed to wake Sleaford up and they got themselves back into the game and won a few short corners. The last one resulted in Kieran scoring an equaliser, again with a big deflection from a defender.
Sleaford appeared to be holding on to a draw when with only a few minutes left Spalding's best player made his way through the defence to score what was the winner.
Sleaford can again be proud of their performance and 3 new players made their debuts.
