Old Coventrians 31 - 10 Southam

This was tough day for a young Southam squad with at least 7 senior players unavailable.

Southam were outweighed across the pack and Old C's used that weight throughout the game. Southam got through the early period and got back in the game with vital steal by wing forward Bay Toner, Southam got into the OC's half with a kick from centre Harry Hewson, the ball stood up and full back Will Wood was snapped it and was through for the try. OC's started using their big men at the base and they found holes with No'1 making 50m into Southam 22, Southam lost the scrum and from the next ruck OC's broke through for the try. Southam did not fill the holes and 10 minutes later, the OC's No1 got a converted try with a strong run through the centre. As the half closed OC's again broke using their big men and the 2nd row went through for the converted try.

Wing Sam Bench came on after 6 weeks out and made some strong runs, but Southam were wary and stood off allowing the big OC's to get up to speed and score 3 more tries. Southam got a consolation try when they got in OC's faces and forced errors and penalties, fly half Jon Lowden took a quick penalty 10m out and stepped past two defenders to get over for the try.
