U10 Boys storm into Division A on a VERY windy day!

The U10 A team played their way into division A with convincing style today. Not only were they undefeated in division B scoring 11 goals in four matches but from start to end they played some lovely patient & mature hockey both in defence and attack. The boys worked hard for each other all morning in what can truly be described as a team performance. Our GK Jack had a great day keeping a clean sheet by communicating & working well with this defenders George & Archie. The defence worked very well today with the team only allowing three shots in side the D in four games and none of these being on target. George’s marking was consistent and determined and Archie’s tackle and subsequent clearance pass to midfield was very effective today.
The midfield combination of Sam, Oliver and Alistair was a force to reckon with in defence and attack. The team’s press (now called “the ring”) was very effective putting the opposition under pressure time and time again. In attack all three boys had a great day with lots of wide early passes to players in space finding gaps in the oppositions defences. Thomas played in both defence and midfield and showed great determination and focus. Thomas also took the role of injector for most of our short corners today fifing in accurate balls at speed. Jude had a great day as our forward finding space for the midfield to pass to time and again and was so unlucky to not score until the third game where he finally go on the scoresheet.
The hockey on show was very structured, patient and mature for their years and they look forward to seeing how they fair in division A next month. Thanks to our Team Manager Sarah for doing all the work behind the scene. Role on February!
